Lead Oncology Pharmacist
Overview
This role offers an opportunity to lead oncology pharmacy services by overseeing chemotherapy preparation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing medication use, and collaborating with clinical teams to support patient care. Our client values expertise in oncology pharmacy and leadership to enhance workflow and patient safety. Key Responsibilities ● Develop, coordinate, and maintain employee training records for chemotherapy preparation ● Prepare and maintain policies specific to chemotherapies and biologic medications ● Collaborate with pharmacy and infusion center staff to optimize workflow and reduce patient care delays ● Assist Pharmacy Buyer with chemotherapy inventory and procurement to minimize drug waste ● Review chemotherapy order sheets for accuracy and optimization according to guidelines and protocols ● Coordinate with providers to optimize vial sizes and ensure medication stability and concentration ● Monitor lifetime doses for medications with cumulative dose limits ● Assist with new formulary medication implementation and staff education ● Identify and communicate drug-specific alerts for inclusion in drug dictionary ● Consult with infusion center providers and nursing staff regarding medication orders ● Support prior authorization staff to ensure insurance coverage for therapies ● Assist infusion center staff with patient counseling and medication reconciliation upon request
Qualifications

1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
- Chemotherapy Pharmacy
- Nuclear Pharmacy
- Oncology
- Doctorate degree
- Valid Pharmacist in New York (NY)
- Valid BCOP
- Do you have Lead experience?
